Madeira Uphill 2000 is organized by the AARAM (Association of Athletics of the Autonomous Region of Madeira) and is known to be one of the toughest half-marathons in the world. The race begins in Funchal Bay and ends at Pico do Areeiro (1818 meters), one of the highest mountains on the island. There are 2000 meters of slope full of breathtaking scenery. Due to the constant slope of the Trail, it is incredibly challenging.
The race has two competitions available: half and mini-marathon. The half marathon can be done individually or as a relay race (4 elements).
